Crock Pot Recipe: Easy Honey Orange Pork Chops – So Yummy!

We made this on Saturday and boy howdy did they turn out good!  Honey Orange Pork Chops in the Crock Pot!

This recipe is easy!  It doesn’t require any special gourmet ingredients, you probably already have everything you need in the pantry.  It was inspired by a Honey Lemon Chicken Recipe I found on Pinterest, but I didn’t have any Lemon and we are all sick of Chicken so I changed it up to use what I had.  I also recommend using a slow cooker bag for easy clean up.

  • 8 Pork Chops or Pork Steaks – bone-in works the best but any cut of Pork would work just fine.
  • 2 Oranges, sliced with peel on.
  • 3 Cloves of Garlic, or 3 TBLS. minced Garlic
  • ¼ - ½ C. of Honey
  • ½ – 1 C. of Chicken Broth or Water
  • 1 -2 tsp. Poultry Seasoning
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 1 – 2 TBLS Olive Oil

Make it!

Season with salt and pepper then lightly brown the Pork Chops in the Olive Oil.  Set aside.   They do not need to be cooked all the way through.

Slice the oranges into rounds leaving the peel on and mince the Garlic.  Stir the Poultry Seasoning, minced Garlic and Honey together in a small bowl.

In the Crock Pot:

Line the Crock Pot with a slow cooker bag.  Put 2 Orange slices at the bottom.  Add a layer of Pork Chops (2 or 3 depending on how big your slow cooker is).  Drizzle the Pork Chops with the Honey Mixture and lay another Orange slice on each Pork Chop.  Continue to layer the Orange slices,  Pork Chops and Honey drizzle until all of the Chops are in the pot.  Drizzle the remaining Honey mixture over the top and pour the Chicken Broth over all of it.  That’s it!

Cook for 3 to 4 hours on high or 6 to 8 hours on low.  My Crock Pot runs hot so it didn’t quite take 6 hours, adjust the cooking time to work with how your Crock Pot runs.

We had it with Coconut Mango Rice and a Veggie medley.
